Common questions

How long do I have to return my condition report in Western Australia?

You have 7 days after you get the report (the landlord has 7 days from move-in to give it to you). If you don't return it, you are taken to agree with the report you were given.

Should I just sign the agent's condition report?

No. The report is written by the agent for the landlord. Check every room, note anything you disagree with, photograph it and return it with your comments. Once signed without changes, it can become the main evidence of the property's condition on day one.

What happens at the end of the lease?

The move-in condition report is compared with the property when you leave. Damage you noted at the start, or fair wear and tear, should not come out of your bond.
